FAQs

If you can't find the answer to your question please contact me

What age range is Dark Sky Sleepovers suitable for?

My Sleepovers are suitable for ages 3+ and I also cater for grown ups too with themes like my pamper parties and date nights.

Are your Sleepovers just for autistic children?

As an inclusively-minded business I really understand the extra needs that being a neurodiverse person can bring and I will sensitively cater for that.   My sleepovers are for EVERYONE, not just one particular group of people - with Dark Sky Sleepovers, no-one feels left out!

Which areas do you serve?

I am based in Northumberland and also cover the Newcastle, Gateshead and County Durham areas  I know that inclusive parties are hard to find, so I am happy to travel anywhere within 15 miles of the NE43 postcode free of charge.  Bookings more than 15 miles away will be charged 50p per additional mile for my drop off and collection journeys.  If I have availability I will do my best to accommodate you!

How much room do I need for a Sleepover set up?

My A-frame tents are larger than the standard ones, making them perfect for guests of all ages! (3+).  Each A-frame tent requires 1.2m x 2m floor space minimum.  For guests over 5ft 6, I'd recommend requesting my longer mattress, taking floor space requirements to 1.2m x 2.4m

My double tent requires 1.5m x 2m of floor space as a minimum.

I will need you to provide photographs and measurements of all prospective set-up spaces prior to arrival so that I can perform a full risk assessment and ensure the safest sleepover possible.

How do you ensure your Sleepovers are safe?

Safety is my number one priority which is why I only use the best equipment.  My tents, all decorations with "play value" and electronic items are CE and UKCA marked.  CE and UKCA marking indicates conformity with health, safety, and environmental protection standards for products sold within the UK and Europe.

I have a DBS check and my business has all of the relevant insurances, and terms and conditions in place, to keep you and your guests safe.

I have taken the time to review all of my sensory elements with industry experts, such as occupational therapists, to ensure only the highest standard of equipment is used, with the most beneficial properties.

During the booking process you can inform me of dietary and sensory preferences, as well as any allergies.

I will also perform a risk assessment of each party to ensure I can provide the safest set up possible.

For information about how Dark Sky Sleepovers is operating during the pandemic please see my Covid-19 update.

What's included in the Sleepovers price?

The £35 per guest charge includes your themed tent set up, with a host of props and entertainment.  Each child also gets a gift of your choice (fidget toy, breakfast box or bath bomb), plus you can also purchase extras to add to the experience!
